Ladbroke Grove winery

History

Established in 1982, Ladbroke Grove has been producing Coonawarra wines for more than two decades.

Today, Ladbroke Grove is owned and managed by Marie Valenzuela and John Cox. As owners, they have a clear focus on producing super-premium red and white wines from the internationally famous Coonawarra wine district.

Ladbroke Grove is fortunate in that fruit is sourced from selected parcels of estate and contract grown established Coonawarra vineyards. Source blocks include the 40-year old Shiraz vines from the ‘Township Block’ in the middle of Coonawarra as well as the ‘Killian’ vineyard on the western side of the Coonawarra strip.

Its 2001 ‘Killian Vineyard’ Cabernet Sauvignon has set a new level of acclaim for this small producer – it won the Boutique Wine of Australia award in 2003 as well as 9 trophies and 10 gold medals. It has been listed in the UK’s Decanter Magazine as Best Value Coonawarra Wine, and in James Halliday’s 2005 Wine Companion among the top ‘best of the best’ Cabernet Sauvignon in Australia.
